When we talk with non-playable characters in a game, we might imagine ourselves doing so directly; in other words, we might be playing the role of the main character. In this episode on Fallout, we start with an overview of what kind of characters we each wanted to play. Then, we discuss the kinds of conversations our characters had and the impact of those conversations on the world.

We also consider Warren Spector's "Who Forgot the 'Role' in Role-Playing Game?" In particular, he ponders the ability to use dialogue in order to resolve conflict. Does this work in Fallout?
